  1. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Ellen Frankel, who early on encouraged me to persevere in writing “Rashi’s Daughters” when I barely had 4 very rough chapters in what would eventually become the first draft of JOHEVED. Then when that first volume of my adult historical trilogy took off, she twisted my arm to adapt the story into a YA version for 9-14 year olds, “Rashi’s Daughter: Secret Scholar,” which JPS published last summer.

Ellen, I wish you good luck with your writing and I hope you enjoy being a full-time author. Thanks again for all your support,
    Maggie Anton
